Automotive engines dont last long in a marine application.
You have to change the freeze plugs to brass , auto engines are steel they will rot thru. You have to change the camshaft and valve springs as a marine engine runs in a differant rpm range than an automotive engine. This is most important running in the correct rpm range. And then you habe to have the correct cfm carburator . Just plunkin an automotive engine in without those changes and your engine will not last. It will work but longevity is not there.
As above post you need manifolds and risers . And for safety reasons you should be using a marine alternator and starter.

You have to have special exhaust manifolds, water pumps, and a heat exchanger unless your going to cool it directly. I will not be an easy job.
