I have a apple ipod, and I recently just bought a new computer. If I connect my ipod to my new computer (after I download Itunes), will my songs get deleted or will they just be transferred to itunes on my new computer?

I believe they will be deleted. Your ipod can only have one partnership. You need to add your music to itunes by dragging from old pc to new pc (assuming they are on a network)

If you connect your iPod to the new computer, it won't do anything. They can't be synced to more than one computer at a time. What you'll want to do is transfer the music library from your old computer to your new one, via CD/DVD, USB flash drive, or setting up a peer-to-peer network. Once you have all of your music safely transferred, use the Restore Factory Settings function on your iPod to de-sync it from your old computer. Once you've done that, you can then connect it to your new computer and let it sync to that instead. Just don't do that until you know you have every track transferred, because you'll lose everything from the iPod when you Restore and sync to the new computer. Now, if you have any songs from the iTunes store on your iPod that aren't on your old computer, you can restore them to your library, but anything that you bought through another service or ripped from CD will not transfer back to your computer without 3rd Party software.

All the songs will be deleted. The best way to transfer the music is to go into your iPod screen on iTunes and click the "enable disk use" button. This will turn your iPod into an external harddrive and allow you to copy all your song files from your old computer onto the iPod. They will be unplayable, but you can then transfer all of these files to your new computer. After they are copied allow your ipod to be formatted (and erased) to your new computer and then re-copy the same music from your fully loaded new iTunes.

Usually, if you had a windows before and are using a mac/another PC, it should be fine. i think, though, that if you are going from mac to windows, they might get deleted because of macs ability to run microsoft programs, something PCs dont have. Usually its fine as long as you use a USB cord. If i were you, though, and you sitll have the old computer, back all the music up to the original computer using something like iPod rip, a program which allows you to get song from your iPod to your computer. Good luck!

No the songs do no longer carry any viruses. that is purely fairly different documents that are no longer song documents that would desire to hold viruses with them. To make doubly particular, purely open up my my laptop and discover the detachable force which has all your song documents in it and actual-click on the folder and test it employing your antivirus software. If it does not %. up on something, that is all sturdy.
