I'm doing this assignment and I really need help. It says "scientists who study the fundamental structure of matter are called ________" and I don't know what it is! Atomologist, atomologer, atomologiser, atomist, atomer... I DON'T KNOW!!! help, please!

Try physicists, nuclear physicists or quantum physicists. They all fit the bill.

I guess a particle physicist.
But when you really think about it, we're all made of atoms so really the physicist is just an atoms way of studying itself.

I totally disagree with most of the answers here.

Chemists study atoms and the compounds they compose.

Particle physicists study the things that make up atoms.

But its all really a blur anyway...

A particle or nuclear physicist. Unless you are studying Atom Ant, then you are merely on drugs, or gay, if you are male.

Either atomologist or nuclear physicist would be correct. The latter is the more common usage.
