Last I heard, years ago, was that he got into a drug-induced rampage in a hotel and tore the place apart. Police came in and fought him until he died. Apparently, it was from a heart attack caused by the drugs. Is there anything else to the story?

Thanks for the details. That's what I was missing! I knew I saw a book about that, but forgot the author. I will look for it. I recall hearing about his disappointment about being a goon on ice. But why did he end up being one then? Just because he was big? Rage must have been in him already. And did he really have any talent as a player? I recall Chris Nilan, at that time period, had some nice moves, as well as being a light goon. Sad story, Kordic, by all accounts. Maybe saddest one in Hab's history?

That's the end of the story. The coroner determined that the police showed as much restraint as they could under the circumstances. It's not like PQ police would want to hurt a Hab. They piled their weapons etc. on the hotel bed and then about 7 of them dragged him out of the bathroom as they were afraid he might slit his wrists or something. He was packed full of coke and roids and his heart gave out. Sad story..word is he hated playing the enforcer role and that's what drove him into the darkness. Kordic had spent that summer living in a hotel room and hanging at a strip club every night. Apparently his father brought him up to play clean hockey and told him he should quit pro hockey if it meant being a goon.

I read a book on Kordic named "The Fight of his life" "the John Kordic story" by Mark Zwolinski , I assume it is still in print. Anyway as far as his death goes he did resist arrest and during that he had a cardiac episode caused by Cocain and died. There were inquiries that the police used excessive force, but everyone was cleared because the level of coke in his system was so high..

Habs are very almost assured. Leafs are on their way, they might desire to maintain up with wins and not permit their previous, and properly common strategies slip lower back into play. this could be a considerable 3 hundred and sixty 5 days for Toronto despite if it purely ability making playoffs. Hell all of us know their MLB group is making marvelous comebacks from previous years.

What more can there be to the story? You just answered your own question, he is dead. He was a cokehead and roid rager.
What kind of a question is that? He came back to life and went on to play some more? He had a brother Dan that played with the Flyers is all I can add.
