Hated by the rest of the world, then why do we get so many immigrants flooding over here on a daily basis? And why do people in other countries concern themselves with our politics on Y/A?

I'm not trying to be smug, I am just curious why this would be.. I find it a bit strange that we could be the most loved country and the most hated at the same time..

No doubt the US is the best country ever!

I think many of the immigrants coming here are from countries with corrupt governments and poor working and living conditions.

The reason foreign governments don't like the US is because they see how much we have (being the wealthy and celebrities on TV) versus our foreign policy of shoot first, ask questions later.

The country (more accurately: the land) is beautiful and still relatively unspoiled. God truly blessed America. Then the Europeans showed up. That's the reason people want to come here. The land, the beauty, space, resources...etc. Many of the people who live here are kind, generous and (dare I say it) liberal in their thinking. The powers that be, however: the high ranking politicians and corporate c.e.o.s know no country and will play one against the other as they see fit. The U.S. is their pet super-powered bogeyman of choice for distracting the poor from their poverty.

America once offered hope to the hopeless....now the hopeless see Americans as snobs and arrogant people.

Less fortunates will bend to snobs for a better way to feed
themselves and their families and they will imigrate to serve
that purpose.

People of a lot of other countries see America as an
aggressor instead of a staunch ally, this makes them
afraid America is building empires...not liberating the
oppressed.

Because America remains a beacon of freedom and opportunity to so many so they come here to our country. About the Y/A thing, this is the only forum they have of reaching Americans and it may be due to some complex in which they feel inferior because of our country's strength and this is the only way they can talk down to us.

They want to have the perks of the society of the USA but dont understand some of the things it takes to get there.

Some of it is jealousy. People will deny that but its true.

Lets face it the USA has its problems, but its still the place where many many people want to be.

We are hated for our standard of living and envied at the same time. Not to worry, in another ten or twenty years we won't be much better than most third world countries if we persist down the road we're on.

You are right about the fine line between love and hate. Those who stumble back and forth are basically unhappy in their own personal lives.

We are hated *and* loved, depending on who you talk to. But no matter what, there will usually be a strong opinion one way or another.
