How do you do it on iTunes? I already tried right clicking it and that doesn't work.

Yes you can. If you're using iTunes 7+, go to Edit->Preferences->Advanced and then Importing and select MP3 encoder from the "Import Using" drop down menu. You can also choose which bit rate you want the AAC files to be in after converted. If you prefer a higher quality for your songs, I'd recommend choosing 192 kbps, but it's up to you. Click OK to save the changes and after you return to your library, select a song in AAC format and choose "Convert selection to MP3" and the file should be converted in a matter of seconds!

Note: Songs purchased from the iTunes store that are in AAC format cannot be converted through iTunes.

Good Luck!

Yes, even if you bought DRM-protected songs from the iTunes store. Apple specifically built this ability into iTunes so people who own iPod clones can still play iTunes music.

To do this, pull down the Edit menu, select Preferences, click the Advanced tab, then the Importing tab, and change the "Import Using" field to "MP3 format". Click Apply and when you go back to your music library, highlight the tracks you want to convert (if you want to select a series of individual tracks, hold down the CTRL button and click on each track that you want to convert), then pull down the Advanced menu and select "Convert Selection to MP3" (this option will change to match whatever format you've set in the Import Using field).

Alternately, you could also burn them to CD, but this is an unnecessary waste of a CD if you just want them for use on an MP3 player.

You can do it in iTunes but it is not very simple and takes a long time. You can get an excellent AAC to MPS converter from www.download.com, just look in the video and audio tools.
