Triangles that share a common side are called congruent triangles.

Everybody's wrong. Two triangles that share one side aren't congruent. You can prove triangles congruent by the following methods:
SSS- side side side (all three sides congruent)
SAS- side angle side (two sides congruent with one angle in between)
ASA- angle side angle (two angles congruent with one side in between)
AAS-angle angle side (two angles and a side. side does not have to be in between.)

There are a couple of others, but I don't think that's what you are talking about.
Two triangles with two congruent sides are Isosceles. All sides congruent are equilateral. All different are scalene.

p.s. and for xxQuickillaxx, a lot of this stuff is 10th and 11th grade Geometry, and if you were so smart, you would actually tell everyone the answer.

Do you mean "What is the term for a triangle that has two equal sides?" That's an isosceles triangle.
