There are several reasons why your computer is restarting every 5 minutes. The first thing that came to my mind is that your computer's fan might be broken, which would cause your motherbroad to overheat and force a shutdown. You need to systematically ruleout or rule in what might be causing the problem. Have you recently installed any new software programs or hardware? If you installed new software, you can try to do a system restore to restore your computer to an earlier time before the problem appeared. If you installed new hardware, turn off your computer and unplug it. Next, remove the new hardware and then plug in your computer.

If you haven't install any new hardware or software, start your computer in safe mode. To get in to safe mode, during the boot process, press [F8] and you will be given several choices. Choose safe mode with network connection. In same mode, only Windows OS is loaded. All startup programs are disable. See if your computer restarts in safe mode. If it does not then it is likely you have a software problem. In safe mode, scan your computer for viruses and spyware. If you don't have security software, you can use Trend Micro's HouseCall to perform an online scan (http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp). Make sure to remove any malicious files. Afterwards, restart your computer normally. See if this solves the problem. If not, I need more information to determine the problem.

You definitely have a virus or a worm.

Get off the internet and have your antivirus run a scan on your computer to find the infected drive. You may need to restart your computer in safe mode to do this if it restarts during the scan.

Smack whoever just said norton they obviously know nothing about pc security

1: In between your dc's go snag AVG free edition

2: After you get it and manage to update it and not pull your hair out wait for the next shutdown. When you start your pc back up and begin to cuss and pull hair go to step 3

3: Smack f8 until you see a list of boot options come up.

4: Select safe mode without network support so your pc does not connect to net and only bare minium of stuff runs.

5: Run avg and let its do its magic.

You may have a connection problem or a virus. And another thing do you the air spay to blow out the dust, that could be a problem.
Turn it off unplug, redo everything. One time mine was internally and the connect had an intermittent problem, and I fixed it, it was simple.
If you have a virus, just call or check with Microsoft.
