I am trying to start a lacrosse team for my high school, i know it will be costly, and tough, but who would i have to go to for help. Many schools in our division have teams, and its becoming very popular, what should I do?

Start by having a meeting with your school's Athletic Director. Chances are he (she?) is aware of the popularity of Lacrosse, and has been wanting to find a way to get a team started up.

If you can, try to include a coach from one of the local club teams, or perhaps a coach from one of the other schools. This will help your AD to understand the costs involved, as well as the interest from the community.

Lacrosse is an awesome sport. Good for you to try to start a lacrosse team in your school. Since it's getting popular, there's no reason not to talk to the athletic director and principal. Talk to kids who are interested, and you could put up some lacrosse fliers around the school. Since you say it may be costly, raise money with some interested people. You might want to get some signatures from people who want it as well. Talk to teachers who know about lacrosse and maybe they want to coach. Spread the news! Good Luck!!

First i would get a list of everyone who would want to play. Then you need to approach your schools Athletic Head. You may even want to get the name of a teacher or two who would coach and someone to be the trainer that is certified in C.P.R. and first aid (this is a must). You need to be be able to justify having a lacrosse team at your school. The unfortunate thing is the Athletic head at your school will not want students from other sports that run at the same time as lacrosse crossing over. I'm not sure where you are but i would imagine that baseball, soccer and track run at the same time. This is the problem at my sons school and why they don't have a LAX team. So he has to play club LAX. Field and box.
Your most important point is justifying the team. Mabey ya'll can have a funraiser to help subsidize the cost. You might even be able to wear the football jerseys from the f-ball team.
