Do you think that being brought up to be a good, honest and morale person actually works against you? (Especially in a work/business environment?) Do you think that people without scruples get on in life much easier because their conscience allows them to behave unfairly without feeling guilty?

Does the lack of a conscience increase the avenue's open to you as far as what you are prepared to do in life to get on.....no matter who gets damaged along the way?

If so shouldn't we all bring our kids up so that they are comfortable doing more or less ANYTHING in order to survive and thrive as long as they don't get caught? Even bad things?

(This is a a serious question - no joke answers please)

No I don;t think it works against you, I think it is to the childs advantage to be brought up with good morals and values. You don't have to be a liar, cheat or step all over people to work your way to the top. It can be achieved by a good person with good morals as well. Business is tough and the corporate world can tear you apart, but with a good solid upbringing to believe in yourself and to respect others will help you acheive success and be admired by your peers. I am a firm believer in what goes around comes around so those who screw people to get to the top will one day fall and pay for their mistakes and for using others. I would rather raise a good , grounded human being than to raise a child to become a money hungry ladder climber.

Opposite! It serves as a protection. You're trained conscience steers you to make the correct decisions in all manure of life.
It may seem that the unscrupulous have the advantage, but in the long run, since there is a grand plan for the humble, he loses ( all of it -for good!).
You express the same lament as Asoph does in Psalms. As Solomon says, " There is nothiing new under the sun".

yes many times it happened to me.it actually happens now at my work place.i am the kind of person when i see something or someone in need of help,i help.by the way i work in a nursing home.i cannot turn my back and just walk away.but mean while some of my co-workers they get away with it.i think people do get what they want in life because they don't have feeling of guilt in them.people had lost there compassion for people.i am a mother and it's hard for me.but i always make sure that my child is reminded that even though this generation is different from mine were still human and we need to respect one another.that we all have to work hard for our money or just your own soul.i just couldn't face myself in the morning knowing that i have step on someones foot.and hurt them.morals are no longer a part of this society.it's sad but its true.i see it everyday.

Yes and No. Of course you are right and Anybody saying otherwise is naive. - But I need somebody to kick me in the a** if I go raising my son to be immoral and unethical just becuz he will be able to go a lil farther in this temporary, fleeting world.
