A baby can start is soon as they are born to sleep in a crib..but some moms like to have them in a smaller one that fits in there room so they can keep a eye out. the blanket is OK but the pillow is not a good idea yet cause a baby can suffer Cate. Baby always should sleep on there tummy cause if they spit up it is only on there face and they can't drown in it like when they are on there backs. I had always did this to my baby when they were born.

None of my children had pillows till they were 2 years old. They wiggle so much, their head wouldn't stay on the pillow anyways. Pillows can also be a suffocation hazard for babies under one.
Until my babies could roll over, I just dressed them in the sleeper bags for infants. Babies sleep better when they are not too warm. Once the little ones are mobile, I would use small blankets (about their own body length) for covering.

Pillows I would wait until she's a toddler. I had my daughter sleeping with light blankets from the get go.

My son had a blanket early on. He was born in October so the nights got a little chilly. I just tucked it in tightly around the mattress and had the top of it under his arms. He didn't get a pillow until he got his big boy bed, and he doesn't really use it. He lays on top of his Pooh bear instead.

Call the SIDS foundation. For a blanket I think its 1 yr. Don't know about pillows. Ask your pediatrician, too.

your baby should be ready for a blanket that isnt swaddled when he or she has controll of her hands and can pull it off her face if needed as for pillows, they arent needed for quite a while
