If you only have 1 month to lose weight (i.e. 1 month before you might get pregnant) then I wouldn't shoot for more than 5 pounds. It's the smallest amounts that are toughest to lose but here is how I do it.

Drink only water/tea/coffee (no drinks with sugar). Don't get seconds at meals. Cut back or eliminate refined starches like white bread, white rice, sweets and pasta mixes out of a box.

Last of all, walk a little each day to accelerate the weight loss. And don't snack after dinner unless it's really low cal like carrots.

Honestly, if you're only going to wait a month or so to try to get pregnant, I wouldn't bother with trying to lose weight. I would just work on being healthier and not worrying about what the scale says. Eat healthy foods, make sure you get all your food groups in, especially fruits and vegetables, and take a daily vitamin. Call your gyno and see if they'll write you a prescription for a prenatal vitamin-or ask about PreCare Conceive, a multivitamin to take while you're trying to get pregnant. Increase your physical activity and take a walk daily or something like that. If you tone up a lot, you won't be able to do as strenuous exercises while pregnant that you did pre-pregnancy. You can still exercise, but not in the same ways. Just worry about being healthy and don't focus on weight.

After my son was born, my body was actually better than it was pre-pregnancy-I went down a couple of sizes and my belly was flatter.

Try Curves. Good idea losing weight beforehand...it will increase your chances of getting pregnant and having a healthy pregnancy. Don't, however lose more than 5-10. Consult your ob/gyn for advice on how much is right for you.

Moderate exercise and eating right (healthy foods and watch your portions) should help...as long as it's consistent. Eating healthier is better when you want to get pregnant any ways. You don't want to drop 5-10 pounds quickly because it can actually affect your cycle. Continue this even when you are trying to get pregnant and when you do become pregnant (keep exercise on the low-impact side) .

Why not loose weight after you concieve the baby, I'm sure you will just waste your time trying to loose it then when you get pregnant you will gain that weight back anyway, I say wait until the baby is born eat healthy during pregnancy and you will be fine.
Good Luck Girl.

Don't do anything drastic! Watch what you eat, do some moderate excercise-walk a little! Park a little further out at work or stores, take the stairs! Don't do anything drastic, or it willput stress on your body, just try to be healthier!
