Republicans are just stingy Democrats.
Both parties are destroying America, only the Republicans do it at a slower pace.
Everything is usually a compromise of the Democrat Party Agenda only the Republicans will not give them everything at first but usually the Dems get what they want over time.

I am a conservative independent. Here is the way I see it. The Dems want to raise taxes and give that money to those people in this country who refuse to do the right things. They reward unwed Mothers for having more and more children they can't afford. They offer more and more money to those who refuse to work. On the other hand the Republicans will lower taxes (for everyone- no matter what the Dems say), and they give most of the breaks to big business. Out of the two, I would rather my money go to businesses that will create more jobs for those of us who work for a living. Those who are not looking for the Government to take care of us, but instead, to get out of our way so we can take care of ourselves. Taxes should be the same across the board. The Dems will never allow a flat tax because it would take away too much of the money they use to enslave people with monthly checks.

Seriously, there is little difference. Both groups are stubbornly attached to their own mindset of power, control, hatred, bigotry and false idealism. If Republicrats would come together for the sake of this nation, and - in one great patriotic gesture - agree to do what's best for our society instead of what's best for themselves, the resulting synergy could change this country forever. But Republicans want to believe their conservative views are best; Democrats want to believe their liberal views are best.
When, in fact, if we all don't start working together to save this nation - and this planet - there will be nothing left to disagree over within a generation or two. We are wasting precious time fighting amongst each other at a time when we need to find solutions to the world's most serious issues, mainly: global warming; the protection of our fragile ecological system; and the nurturing of future generations of human beings who must learn to live together in peace and harmony, not only with other people - but with all creatures on Earth. -RKO- 04/02/07

The Republican Party believes in less government interference in our lives, therefore, allowing people to depend more on themselves and less on the government for survival. This results in taxes being lower. The Democratic Party believes in more government interference in our lives, allowing the people to depend more on the government and less on themselves for survival. This results in taxes being higher. With both parties being in office, things kind of even out.

Republicans believe in spending and borrowing.
Democrats believe in spending and taxing.
Other than that they are basically the same.
They used to be very different ideologically, but I can hardly tell them apart anymore.
