I don't really trust electronic money transactions anymore, there are too many opportunities for data theft.

Do you think cash will make a comeback?

It's not all its cracked up to be.

I still use cash where possible.

But bought a camera recently for £550 (a rare treat for me) and the clerk took the cash to the boss who glared at me. Apparently they had to take it to the bank and didn't like to do so. Poor little souls. And they had the cheek to try and ask for my postcode. Why do they need it?

No, cash is still less likely to let supermarkets know what and where you buy. I prefer the anonimity

Hello,

(ANS) I have to agree with your premiss about too many opportunities for data theft.

YES! cash (coins) have been around for well over 2,500 years I cannot some how see it disappearing suddenly in the near future. So if we all survive for another 500 years I'm sure cash will still exsist in some form.

**I'm far more concerned about ID theft than just the cash thefts.

**I'm even more worried that the Police dont consider theft of money via electronic methods a bad enough crime worth investigating. That you have to report any loss to the banks only & its for them to decide if they will refund your losses? So who is watching how the banks behave in this regard?

Get rid of cash and you eliminate almost every form of crime (how you going to deal drugs when every transaction can be traced ???)

The faster we eliminate all forms of cash the better.

I've never had confidence in chip and pin as the person behind you has full view of your pin
