I am working on a project to make some benches for my school. I would like to build them from the ground up. I am looking for some web sites or even stores (Home depot) that might have some parts for making benches. Do you know of any places or sites where I can get info on build and the MATERIALS need to make benches?

Any other info that you have on building benches would be appreciated.

Thanks!

On Yahoo search I typed in 'free on line bench plans'. Found a site to make most anything. Has plans, tools, materials, hardware and directions to download/ print.
Check it out.......www.backyardspaces.com
Redwood can be expensive, but Douglas fir can be 'finished' in stain, paint, sealer- etc.

I am very surprised that the teacher would assign you a project without teaching you how first. You can get lots of plans by googling. Here's one site http://www.freeww.com/benches.html

You can also get the pieces at any wood products store, and just assemble it, but you wouldn't get credit for building.
