in lower wisconsin. sky was green sounded like a train. lots of wind and rain damage all over. 5 out of 10 in fright. figured no basement and no place to hide. 50/50 chance to make it through and we did.

There was a minor tornado in my area last August. I live in NY and tornadoes don't happen here ever. I was home completely alone accept for the guinea pig and my mom called and told me. I took said guinea pig with me and sat in the basement with a magazine for an hour. The tornado hit my school and the town my dad lives in, but in the end I really didn't have to be in the basement. I was scared though because I'm not used to that sort of thing. I drive by the damage almost every day. It still shocks me. I would rate my fear on a 6

Not only have I experienced a tornado, I've been directly underneath one. At first I was standing outside watching the lightning when I looked to the southwest and saw in the midst of a wall of water the funnel cloud coming over the treeline straight at me.
Of course I ran indoors right away spewing a string of expletives (about a level 7-8) and hunkered down in the basement. It was fairly loud passing overhead, between the wind noise, rattling windows & debris hitting the roof, but it was over pretty quick with no damage done other than a few shingles lifted off the roof.

yes, when i lived in alabama, we always had tornado watches & warnings, so it was a pretty frequent occurence...there always seemed to be funnel clouds appearing out of nowhere, but it happens so often, especially during "tornado season", that u just become accustomed to it...u don`t really get scared because it happens so much, & if u ran & hid in your closet or basement every time the sirens went off, you`d never get anything done some days!!! u just have to be watchful of the weather outside, listen to the latest forecasts & whether the sirens sound or not, & judge if/when u need to take further actions...probably i`ll rate my fear about a 1 or 2...

yes i have. it was at school. i didnt know what was happening. my heart beated so fast i almost started to cry. a trash can flew up in the air and spun around with trash fling everywhere (it was a LOL moment but i was too scared to speak) me and my friends were screaming and mmy life flashed before my eyes. at that moment i thought of the last words i said to everyone i love. me and my friends were screaming and running away as fast as we could. i saw a kid in the air. it was so sad because he was so small. at the time the tornado wasnt that big and strong, but it was still there. everything all of a sudden stopped. the school was messy from the trach falling down from the tornado but i was just glad it didnt get any bigger.
thanks for asking that question. it feels good to let others know these things.
this is a true story that happened to me.
you do not have to believe me because i know what i saw and felt.

yes, I was terrified. I was in my car that had T-Tops at the time, and when the hail started, I tried to get up under the dashboard. I really thought all the glass was going to break in on me, but it didn't. My car was swaying, moving from side to side ! On a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 10 ! I thought I was going to die. It made me feel really small.

I was a minister in the church and a tornado went between the parsonage and the church. The only damage was a few trees uprooted. I had no time to be afraid. It happened in seconds.

Yes, 10, and it was just a tiny one. It "jumped" over an older trailer I lived in at the time. I dumped teh couch upside down and shoved my 2 month old daughter underneath it.
