It's a real song. Randy Travis sang it.
Actually, I found that Randy Travis (among others) covered it... Billy Joe Shaver was the original artist... But Randy Travis is the one singing it in the commercial.

Billy Joe Shaver wrote it and sang it. (He's one of the greatest songwriters around---bet you've heard a LOT of his songs done by other people.) Johnny Cash sang it.
It's actually "I'm just an old CHUNK of coal" not "lump". I don't know what the commercial people did to it.
