If u have watched the game, u wd hve noticed that the ground is usually circular or oval in shape and in the middle is a brown strip called the pitch. Three sticks(stamps) are positioned at each end of the pitch, on top of which are kept two bails forming what is called as wicket. The batsman takes his position at one end of the wicket and the bowler bowls from the other wicket. The portion of the ground to the right of the right handed player and to the left of the left handed player is the off side and the other side is the leg side.

legside or the onside is the outfield which is behind the batsmen when he is batting (facin the bowler) offside is the other side,a right handers offside is a lefthanders legsideand viceversa. similarly a righties legside is a lefties offside an viceversa

Actually legside and offside often comes in the cricket when you are discussing about.I think you are kidding because even babies know what is off side and leg side in cricket.Offside also comes in football, but i cant explain you by typing. Best way is to ask your friend who are knowing,but u ask them orally.
