This depends on which country you're in. LOL For those of us in the US, most summer holidays start around mid June but some schools start as early as the end of May or the early part of June.

If you're talking about English state school holidays, then it has always been the end of the week just before my daughter's birthday, which is 22nd July. They do vary an awful lot though. I'm sure if you post again more specifically someone will answer more definitively!

Well there is an official date or holiday that starts it off, but I say, when you start the grill, and pour the frozen mararitas is the start.

For whom? For different schools, they start at different times, ranging from early May to late June.

For me, here in a UK University, I think it starts about the 11th or 12th of June.
