A two stroke engine is capable of a much higher RPM, which makes it very snappy and full of torque. A four stroke engine is much slower, but capable of producing more horsepower. A two stroke engine has only two strokes, one for intake and ignition, and one for exhaust, they do this by not having valves, but reeds instead. A four stroke has four strokes, first intake, second fire, third exhaust, fourth compression.
Best of Luck!

Well, it depends on what you are using the engine for. The best general answer that I can give you is that with a 2 cycle engine, you don't have to change the oil because you mix it with the gas and in a 4 cycle, you do have to perform regular oil changes. That is one of the biggest advantages.

Two stroke provides more power, but does not run as cleanly as a four stroke. Many states have outlawed two stroke engines for motorcycles, lawn mowers, and weed-eaters because they pollute more than a four stroke.

none really. the two stroke has to rev higher, to produce horse power.
four stroke is smoother running, has torque at lower RPM
