They have a smaller percentage of their population in prison than the US does. What does that tell you? Also they have never been accused of breaking any international treaties and haven't passed any laws making torture legal.

I would guess that many people are opressed there.
Why throw bricks at British embassy? Because the Brits are hypocrites, that's why.
Think about it. The U.K. sends its military to some country (Iraq) to join some idiotic "war" and kills a bunch of people, including their own.
What exactly does Iraq have to do with the U.K.?
So, there you are in your country, Iran, and this boat comes over with a bunch of soldiers in it from some far away land, who are killing your neighbours. Maybe they enter your waters, maybe they just come close. So, you detain them and ask them what the heck they're doing.
I don't know, but personally I think what Iran is doing is tiny, miniscule, unimportant in the big picture.
And, obviously, for those who are Iranian, they probably feel the same and want to throw a few bricks.
I also think that anyone living outside the Western world can clearly see that what Iran has done is common sense.

No actually they are not. Some of you should look into Iran before spouting off your nonsensical talking points.
Women have more rights in Iran than Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are two supposed allies in the Middle East.
You have the freedom to practice whatever religion you wish in Iran. Most of the country IS Muslim, but non Muslims are not discriminated against.

Just because some of these people chose to attack the embassy doesn't mean that 80% of the country would rather not be involved in this whole hostage mess. The reality is that most of the young people in Iran want change. Instead of challenging their psychotic leader in a game of chicken, we should be undermining his support through covert operations and popular unrest. Alas, we have a doofus president.

There is an opressed people in Iran that some say represent the majority. They are pro-democracy and do not agree with the current regime in power.
The throwing of bricks and denouncement of anglo American policy could just as easily been in America and been done by Americans...so that showing has no relevancy.

Only the people who are stuck there are oppressed. Most of the women are oppressed, as it is perfectly acceptable for the men to beat the cr@p out of their wives and daughters. Anyone who disagrees with the government, disagrees at their own risk.
Why are people lining up to throw bricks? Maybe because they fear the neighbors will be suspicious if they don't act like they are in agreement. In oppressed societies, people try to be inconspicuous in order to survive.

I don't know about oppressed maybe oppressive though.
But that is none of our business. Iran is a soverign nation and can do what they please within their borders. When it affects others than, if asked or if effecitng us we can step in.
