Normally you give a woman/girl flowers when someone they know dies, but what if it's a guy, and he knew the person really well?

how about a listening ear? sometimes when people experience a big loss, all they need is a shoulder to cry on or somebody to talk to. talking about it helps with the closure, helps them say goodbye. or if he doesn't want to talk about it, you can always just make sure he knows your there for him and that your not going anywhere. sometimes i think those things are better then all the flowers in the world.

A sincere hug!! A simple smile. A hand shake.
Its always hard to go threw things like this.
A single flower is ok. Guys really do like flowers too. They just dont think that giving them a flower in front of others is very macho. A new CD of music they like is great too. Rent him a movie, if ya know what he likes. Good Luck!

First off, as a dude, I wouldn't answer a question about how to deal with your first period. That being said.. a case of his favorite beer and a shot. This is for immediate family members only, extended family equals a 12 pack. If it's an old college buddy he hasn't talked to in a couple of years, he gets one beer and if he still mopes, smacked in the back of the head.

Just give him your sympathy. You don't need to get him flowers or anything. If he doesn't want sympathy, then don't give it to him. There's really nothing you can do.

You could take him out for dinner. Something relaxing to get his mind off things.
Sorry about the news

Emotional support. Spend time with him, let him talk about his feelings or not talk at all, just being there helps.
