I won what was described as a second hand copy of Final Draft 7.0, the description of which included: "PLEASE NOTE - SOLD IN PACKAGE WITH THE MANUAL"
For £83 it seemed to good to be true and lo and behold, when it arrived today it was simply a burned copy (possibly illegal?) on a writeable disc in a jewel case - no physical manual or anything. I was so disgusted I haven't even loaded it into my machine and contacted the seller simply to say it was not what I expected and would like a refund.
I got this response:
"hi
i cannot dictate the price somebody pays it is an auction and there is a manual with it.
since i am in good mood today how about i give you £30 quid back i we can can it quits. "
I checked his 100% positive feedback and see that he has sold multiple people the same product.
I simply want my money back.
What are my rights? If this copy is illegal should I get the police involved?

First of all contact the supplier and inform him you are not satisfied with the product received and ask him to reinburse you. If not successfull contact Ebay and inform them about the situation
If you paid by paypal you could always make a complaint to them It sound like you have received a copy of the software which could be an illegal copy you will most probably find the manual on the cd

i have had same situation b4.

If it is too good to be true then it usually is, if you paid via paypal you have buyer protection and contact paypal regarding this transaction.

If he has 100% feedback then people in the past have been impressesd with what he sells, but were all the past items the one that you purchased?

Through eBay the buyer may file a claim under eBay's Standard Purchase Protection Program, where they may be reimbursed up to about 120 pounds.

Try the link below to start process and good luck.

First off, open a dispute via eBay. If you paid through Paypal you may have more luck. You can get the police involved but that is unlikely to get you your money back.

Do remember that if something seems too good to be true then it probably is.

contact ebay and have them help you with a dispute. keep your email from him and send a copy to ebay dispute. Did you pay for it with paypal? Paypal will help you also if you file a dispute. You will get your money back.

Ebay itself has a return/fraud policy. Contact them first. Contact the idiot who ripped you off and tell him to refund your money immediately or you will be forced to go to the Police.

I would check with the people who hold the copyright of the product you bought.
