Hardee's thick shake to come through the straw?

Just keep working at it girl, the thick, creamy feeling you get as it slides down your throat is well worth it.
(Pardon me, but I have to leave for about 15 minutes now). . .

Admirable efforts -- very!
Sometimes the shake gets sort of 'stuck' in the straw -- it might help if you jiggle the straw a bit, even move it in and out, and yes, the heat of your grip on both straw and cup can often get the contents warmed up and moving, too.

If at first you don't succeed, suck and suck....and suck til you get it right. Wrap your hands around it for a while, your warms hands will definately help make that boy melt a bit so it's relaxed enough to squirt through the straw.
