I am 34 weeks and I went to see my OB today (last time I went was early March). I was afraid and expecting the doctor to do an internal exam because that's what I kept reading about. My doctor didn't do a internal exam, I was just wondering did most of you guys get one by now? The nurse said I will get an internal exam at 36, 38 and I think 40 weeks. I also thought it was kinda strange that I don't go every 2 weeks by now. My next appointment is April 25th and I will 37 weeks already. I go to a military hospital and I was just wondering because I want to make sure everything will be ok.

I am sure everything is fine! That could just be how they do things or maybe because they don't see any potential risks so they don't need to see you as often. I really wouldn't worry. If you have real concerns like pain or bleeding or possibly ruptured membranes just call your OB or midwife. Other than that walk alot, and stretch alot especially do squats. A really get book to read is "The Thinking Womans Guide to a Better Birth" by Henci Goer. I reccomend it to everyone I know who's having a baby! Congrats ahead of time!
Also frequent internal exams by hand or instrument can put you at a higher risk of infection...So if your doctors see no reason to do one yet don't be worried. You will know when you are in labor, and you wont need the doc to tell you!!! Good luck I am sure you'll do fine!

I am 5 1/2 months and I will start going every 2 weeks next month then for the last 2 months I will go every week. It depends on the doctor when or if you will get an internal exam. Some doctors are opting not to do it at all until due date. Good luck.

It seems like you should be going in to see the doctor more often. My daughter is going every two weeks now and she is 37 weeks. As far as the internal exam thats totally up to the doctor. My daughter gets a sonagram every time she goes now. I guess it's different for each doctor how they treat their patients. I'm sure everything is just fine.

Don't trip chocolate chip...everything is OK. I went to the military hospital with my first daughter. I didn't go every week or two till is got closer to my due date. The military doctors do things a little different. But as long as your not having problems then don't stress.

it's every month until the 7th month then every 2 weeks until the last month which starts at 36 weeks. I didn't get an internal exam until the last month.

the amount of times that you go to the doctors is up to them. i know that in my case, my dr has started me going every 2 weeks at 30 wks. if ur doc felt that there were any problems, then im sure that he would have had you go in earlier. you should recieve a quick internal search at ur next appointment to check if you have started to dialte yet. good luck
