My mother-in-law gave me this serving tray thing - it's SO weird looking. It has a chef head and in the top of the chef's hat is a little bowl where you can put dip in. The weird thing though is that it has three faces all around the head and three plates that stick out in front of each of the faces and the plates look like the chefs apron. You can put crackers or chips on the plates.
My description is not doing the thing justice - it is SO weird looking!

I'm a firm believer that "it's the thought that counts" when it comes to gift giving. If I know that someone put legitimate thought into a gift they had given me, I'm going to love it, even if it's crap. But, other times, when it's like they've given you a gift merely because they felt obligated to...it pisses me off. My grandfather's wife (who no one likes) gave me some old eighties-style grandma jewelry that she got out of her own jewelry box as my high school graduation present. It may sound trivial, but I would rather receive nothing than something that someone put no thought into.

Bed sheets from my hubby. I told him if he couldn't put more thought into a present than that that I would rather not get anything at all. He never did that again

A very lavish set of bath scents in a smell I cannot stand, from my inlaws; and my ex once gave me an empty box that had "this is a box filled with love" scribbled on it - so he could spend his Christmas shopping money on him, instead of buying me something.

A box of condoms
The nerve of some people.
Still, it might've been the worst, but it was sure as hell the most useful.

The Christmas from Hell. My sister-in-law gave me a purse with a nest of cockroaches in it. Needless to say I showed her and her gifts the fast way out of our house.
