Kobe Bryant. Take him away and what are the Lakers? The Mavs and Suns are both still playoff teams with Dirk and nash, respectively, but the Lakers are a lottery team without Kobe. Has anyone else in the league scored 81? Has anyone else showed more clutch game winners as kobe? Dirk and Nash are both really good players, but if i had to pick a player to start a team right now, i would pick number 24.

I think kobe should be the MVP. He had 4 straight 50 point games.Sure Dirk and Nash are MVP candidates as well. But The mavs without Dirk Will Still be a playoff team maybe not the 1st seed but definitely in the payoff hunt.same with the suns.take kobe out of the laker roster and the lakers become a lottery team. wont even be near the playoff race. Realistically, Dirk will become the 2007 MVP. But i think it belongs to Bryant

This year......Kobe Bryant. Put it this way: A guy like Steve Nash is a great player, but he should've never won an MVP, let alone 2. Nash is the new John Stockton: very good perimeter shooter, great at the foul line, and a ton of assists per game. But Stockton never won an MVP, because he wasn't even the best player on his team, just like Nash isn't. Give it to Kobe. He's the best scorer, and wins games for his team every other night. He stands out from the rest of the league. A guy like Nash would be great to have on your team, but he doesn't have the ability to take a game over like a Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kareem and a bunch of other "true" MVP's.
