Because they're constanlty fighting a war of their own. If they could afford it I'm sure they would, but currently 60% of the gross national product goes towards their own defense.

BTW, they did donate a lot of money for Katrina.

As in the First Gulf War, the USA asked Israel to stay out of it, because Americas other allies threatened to leave if Israel joined. In the first one, Israel really wanted to join, because Saddam was throwing SCUDs at Israel, and fighting Iraq seemed to be self-defense; but the USA sent over Patriot ground-to-air missiles, stationed in target places, to stop the SCUDs in the air, but only if Israel would promise not to join the fight.
It's politics.
But that is Israel.
In the US army there are many Jewish Americans. There is a difference between the Israeli nation and the Jewish religion. So your last line was really REALLY wrong. But the question is a good one.

you are a very uninformed person. The US told Israel to stay out of Iraq because if it would send in troops then the Arab countries would all have a heart attack and go off to war. That's all then need is to have Israel participate in a war with an Islamic state. Suicide. Israel would like nothing better at this time than to bomb Iran....to knock out Iran's nuclear sites. After all who is more to suffer if Iran finally got nuclear weapons? However, the US told Israel to back off! The US doesn't need other wars on its hands. Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon plus other Arab nations would go to war. Or would they? The Arabs are big threatens but do very little.
And for your information, Israel borrows money from the US which it pays back so get your facts right.

The whole middle east is like a tinderbox waiting to go up in smoke. So what do you think would happen to Israel if their soldiers helped us out in Iraq?? Don't you think that they have enough to deal with in their own backyard??. They are completely surrounded by fanatical head bangers, whom I might add are falling over the top of each other in the race to see who will take the CREDIT for wiping out the Israeli's. How calous can a person be to expect them to go it on their own, and try to fend of these LUNATICS from wiping them out as a race. When push comes to shove and Iran starts unleashing NUKES, and it will in due time, their will be no doubt as to who's side Israel is on, I mean come on they have offered to take on the Iranian regime and do the dirty work for the rest of the middle east and the whole world. They would be doing the world a BIG favour, but do you think they would be thanked publicly?? I think not, and who do you think is in the American Military fighting this war on terror?? Only pure bread American's, I think not, the American Military is made up of all sorts of nationality's, young boy's and girl's who have VOLUNTEERED to stand up and fight on the frontlines of the war on terror because they believe in America and it earns them their citizenship to the greatest nation on the planet, and there is where you will also find our Jewish / American allies helping out with the war. Idiot!

The U.S. doesn't want their help in Iraq. We support Israel and we don't want them involved in more problems than they already have. Israel is not trying to expand it's economy. It needs to worry about protecting their homeland. Israel is trying to work on diplomacy with it's Islamic neighbors and fighting on an offensive front along the U.S. would be a big mistake. Look at how hard they got criticized for defending themselves last summer. They were told they fought back too hard. Why would they go into battles uless it was to defend themselves. That's why their army is called the IDF, Isreali Defense Force.

Surely yours is not a serious question. If Israel joined in the effort, the entire Arab world would be outraged. They may even get involved on the other side. The coalition does not need help from Isreal.

What makes you think Israel is not helping in some way? They have the world's best Intelligence Service.

The U.S. has lots of allies; some are helping in the war, some aren't. Do you really WANT to start a world war by getting EVERYBODY involved? That's just dumb.

Their own homeland could come under attack, and is almost always threatened. They need every ounce of their strength in order to keep themselves safe. Therefore, asking, 'Why isn't a country that isn't at war, and has no chance of going to war, is not peacekeeping, and is an ally of the US, sending more than 500 troops?'

Not to mention that they would be wearing giant targets on their uniforms, simply because they are Israeli. Heck, they'd even be more sought after targets than Americans, and that's saying a lot.

Because it is an UNJUST war!!! Hello!!!! if it was for a real cause and not just because the USA is addicted to war, maybe they would have more allies

The USA has a lot of allies that aren't helping in the war. What's your point?
