WHAT A CROCK! Those who fail to study history are doomed to repeat it. Those teachers should be REQUIRED to include that lesson in their studies or be fired. I don't give a rats if the Muslims are offended. That's just too bad.
If this is going to be the standard then I WANT ALL REFERENCES TO AMERICANS OWNING SLAVES REMOVED FROM ALL SCHOOL LESSONS BECAUSE IT'S EMBARASSING.
Actually, I don't want that at all but I am making a point here. History is a fact and it needs to be taught or we don't learn from it. The teachers should be sacked.

It also says "A third school found itself 'strongly challenged by some Christian parents for their treatment of the Arab-Israeli conflict-and the history of the state of Israel that did not accord with the teachings of their denomination".
I don't put much credibility in this whole article, but I'll have to admit there is too many much pressure from ALL Religions to influence what is taught in schools.

No school should censor their classrooms because of a few religious beliefs that could get in the way. If it truly offends somebody, they can be excused from the classroom for the duration of the lesson. Whether it be the Holocaust which may offend some Muslim or it is the theory of Evolution that may offend some Christians, it should be taught no matter what.

Gotta love liberals, especially women who rail against "insensitivity" to radical Islamist teaching and culture! (There are a few right here on this answer)
Islam has given us the most misogynistic societies in the history of planet earth. Under Shariah Law, these liberal women would be persecuted, repressed, uneducated and living in the shadows of a male-dominated culture.
Read Dinesh d'Souza's "The Enemy at Home" if you'd like an educated perspective of how these folks whose views you defend in our schools would consider you and your personal preferences.

I think we as a country are becoming to PC these days. It does not matter what we do, we are going to piss people off. I think that the holocaust should be taught in schools....it is a huge part of history. I think the crusades also need to be taught....I think that is a prime example of how extremes of both muslim AND christian religions can lead to the dealth of thousands and thousands.....We have to stop worring to much about what people think and do whats right......

Personally as a not a very religious Muslim, I believe religion should not be mentioned in school. VERY understandable to teach them about holocausts or any religious events but I dont think religion should be up for discussion.

PC has taken over unfortuately, Islamic radicals are on the war path & others, saying Islam is a religion of peace , and if whats hapening in the Middle East is Peace they can keep it. Its like we are ina Jihad as they call it which American indians can certainly understand as we were once the victims of a religious war, when Columbus invaded and his genocide was sanctioned by Pope Linus.

Actually, I found this part of the story interesting.
A third school found itself 'strongly challenged by some Christian parents for their treatment of the Arab-Israeli conflict-and the history of the state of Israel that did not accord with the teachings of their denomination'.
The report concluded: "In particular settings, teachers of history are unwilling to challenge highly contentious or charged versions of history in which pupils are steeped at home, in their community or in a place of worship."
I don't think it's a problems of "liberals" but extremists-both Muslim and Christian that attempt to dictate history. Blaming liberals is simply incorrect.
Let's talk about both sides of extremism.

Yes Muslims forced Bush to write the No Child left behind Law.
They only teach the answers to the tests Just like Bush did back at Yale.
Why study when you only need the answers. That is Bush and his pall Bandar's policy

Yes, Muslims control what is taught in classrooms in Malaysia, Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, and countries like that. I don't think any Western European or American Countries are so controlled.
