I suppose you could, but I wouldn't recomend it. Only use first gear when you are first pulling out from a stop.

No, no, no!!! Way too fast. You would either tear up the engine or the transmission.

Whoops, my bad. I read 70mph. If you are doing 7 then chances are you can downshift into first. It isn't normally done, because you are already in the 2nd gear range and just accelerate in second.

It's not a good idea to downshift into first because the gearing is pretty high and it takes a little practice and it's hard on the syncros.

In most cases, yes. Some truck transmissions have a very low first gear, and 7mph might redline the engine. In a car, however, it would be just fine.

It is harder to shift from 2nd into 1st, because you can over rev the engine going into the lower gear with the motor revving high. It is best to only shift down into 1st from a higher gear when you are idling at a stop.

diverse previous vehicles did no longer have synchromesh on 1st kit on the grounds which you mostly used it purely from an entire supply up. you could shift lower back to 1st from 2d, purely make effective that your velocity would not redline the motor.

yes, but dont go too fast or you'll slow down really fast (like slamming on the brake). many people slow down using the gears and shifting down.

Yes, it’s called “downshifting”

Press the clutch, give it a little gas to match RPMs, then downshift.

Yes, but make sure you do it slowly, don't let the gears crash.
