You know, a lot of people doubted New Orleans being a success story too, saying Bush and Brees couldn't improve the team THAT much...uh..right.
Well Houston got DeMeco Ryans, Mario Williams, Matt Schaub, Ahman Green (although aging, still 1000 yard capable), and Andre Johnson....You give this team a solid #2 WR...some OL talent and better talent at safety and I wouldn't consider them that bad of a team...but playoff worthy in a division and conference like that....that's tough. Tennessee and Jacksonville are also quite good...not to mention Indy's dominance over that whole division, Houston has a hole to dig out of, but they are doing a good job so far building that team.

I love the optimism...not sure where you draw it from, but nice to see it.
I think they have cut their losses with Carr and are looking forward...something they have't done with any realism for a couple of years...
I like that Mario Williams is there - regardless of how and who they may have taken in the draft last year. Important that they focus on giving their starters the best chance to do the job, and work with what they have.
The secondary copped some criticism last year (they weren't Robinson Crusoe), but I think with the offence more settled now(hopefully), the D can work effectively. With no points on the board, and the opposition getting the ball in good field position, the pressure on the D to make THE big play on D every down can't have helped.
All the best.

I believe that if Houston had not have passed up Bush there would have been a chance at the playoffs this year...but then again the o-line of Houston is horrible. That is why Carr couldn't shine. He actually has decent accuracy, but never got the chance to throw because the damned o-line couldn't block.

I agree with most people here, when I tell you that while they are improving, they are still 1-2 years away from even making the playoffs. Matt Schaub isnt an improvement on David Carr. Carr was a good QB, it was the line that was the problem. That problem will remain with Schaub this year while David Carr will surprise alot of people depending on the line for the team that signs him. Certainly an improving team, but NOT a superbowl team, not yet!

No way! Not even close to the playoffs man. The AFC is too strong for the Texans. Maybe if they were in the NFC they could.
