I think about possible events that may unravel in a bad way. They are not far out things like getting a disease from a shopping cart.

This is called paranoia and it can be treated with medication. You might want to consult a doctor.

But if it's not that serious, then you could easily solve it by influencing yourself to be optimistic. For example if you are sure that something bad is going to happen, try influencing your mentality in order to reach the conclusion that everything is positive. List all the details of the situation that is troubling you in your mind and analyze them, trying to reach the conclusion that bad consequences are not possible.

The first thing to realize is that bad things do happen, and will happen. You can live your life as cautiously as possible and wham, out of nowhere something bad happens.

Some guy in Florida, where I live, was attacked by a group of wild pitbulls and other mutts, five dogs attacked him for over 4 minutes, he didn't die, but he was mangled pretty badly. When I heard that story I thought, see, no matter how careful you are, when it is your time, it is your time. Kind of like the old, hey, I could get hit by a bus tomorrow theory.

You just have to really appreciate it when times are good, because when times are rough, you have something to look forward to, and something to hope for.

Remember, there is ALWAYS hope, if you choose to dwell on the negative all the time, it is hard to see the light, but even in the darkest of places, it is there. Call it God, karma, what have you, but it is 'basically' balanced.

...-By thinking; "Ok, -I can deal with it." Because the fact of the matter IS, you're going to HAVE TO- whether you worry about it, or not! This is life; stuff HAPPENS. But it's a waste of time & emotions worrying about it. When someone asks ME what I'm going to "do" about such & such situation that looms on my horizon- I simply tell them, "I'll build THAT bridge when I get to the river..." And true to form, I deal with it when the time comes. It's not rocket science- it's life. And this seems to work pretty well for me. :)

part of your personality may be to play the part of a strategist.

as you asses the posibilities of the bad that may happen - - think upon and try to put into play the good things that may prevent the bad from taking place.

May good fortune follow your efforts.
