When I missed my first period I took 3HPT. They all came up negative. The week I was late I had a blood test. Still negative. So I thought my timing was off. So I waited a week. Took 2 more HPT. Still nothing. So again had a blood test. Came up negative. So I gave up. A month later again no period. Now I am thinking something was wrong and I was worried. This was on a Wednesday. On Thursday was going to go for an ultrasound just too see if anything was wrong. But Wednesday night I took another HPT and to my surprise it was positive. I did not believe the test so went went and bought 1 more. (At this point the pharmacist must think I'm a nut to buy so many tests...LOL) Took the second and was positive. So the next day had an ultrasound and was told I was 7 weeks pregnant!! So she told me I must have ovulated a couple of days before my one first period was due, which is why the blood test did not pick it up. Needless to say its a blessing we have been trying for a while, I had 2 miscarriages. So I had given up hope. I am now 11 weeks and everything seems to be OK.
Good-luck and congrats!!!!

We were trying to get pregnant I was really eager to find out as early as possible so I would take the one's that tell you "5 days sooner" every month. After 3 months of trying when one finally turned positive (on the day I expected my period) I didn't trust it and went out and bought 4 more, I peed in a cup and put them all in and they all turned positive.
For the second pregnancy I only took 1.

I took about 10! LOL - i kid you not. I was so in denial - i'd take one and think - no way thats a mistake it can't be positive. So i'd take another and another and i just kept getting all these pink lines! I got different brands "just in case" a brand was faulty... it cost me a fortune but i was just convinced that i couldn't be. My fiance came home and i was surrounded by all these pregnancy test boxes just staring in disbelief. They were right though - i'm 38wks pregnant at the moment :)

One home test, which turned positive immediately. And then one in the doctor's office, just to make sure.
