Neo-conservatives prefer to devalue the US dollar via huge deficits and place the burden on their children.
Bush's sales pitch was that Iraqi oil would pay for the war. Wrong again... Neo-cons don't care who sacrifices, as long as it isn't them.

You and most of the people answering here don't have a clue about economics. With taxes all society reaches the point of diminishing returns in other words lowering taxes usually leads to increase revenues to government it has worked everywhere it has been tried. The problem is not tax cuts but with the increase in revenues government tends to start spending even more, like we are currently doing.
Tax increases will get you more revenue that first year but as it starts to stifle economic activities the amount will start to fall. A lot of economist find that when you start going over 33% people start looking for ways to hide and shelter their money if taxing your way to prosperity is the way to go most of the world would be very rich now.

Most people think the government can just print more money anytime it gets the notion.
No Joke.
I read post on this forum where some people actually suggest that the government just print more money rather than pay taxes.
It amazes me the number of people who don't have a clue as to the monetary system of this country.
But then again, you have people in office who think it's okay to start from deficit spending, lower taxes, and create even higher deficit spending.
Then everyone complains about the cost of imported oil going up because their dollar has devalued.
Go figure.

Exactly. According to Citizens Against Governmental Waste, pork spending is actually down since the Dems. are back in the majority. There goes the theory of the porking Dems. The spending from 2000-2006 was disgusting, and to give tax cuts to boot is highly irresponsible. Passing the debt to our children, cowards who just want to look good...that is all the Repubs. of this day and age are.
The 2006 Pig Book identified 9,963 projects in the 11 appropriations bills for fiscal 2006, costing taxpayers a record $29 billion. The total cost of pork increased by 29 percent between fiscal years 2003 and 2006. In fiscal 2007, Congress passed a joint resolution that excluded pork from every appropriations bill except Defense and Homeland Security. As a result, the 2007 Pig Book identifies 2,658 projects costing $13.2 billion 73 percent and 55 percent drops, respectively.

It's an immature obsession.Americans could be fooled into anything if politicians just sold it as part of a tax cut.No clue about economics but trapped in sound bytes like biggest tax hike in History.Flip, flop is another one of them. Then you have cut and run,the liberal media.Buzzwords that have no objective basis in reality..Fact is that war needs to be paid.If you don't pay it out of your taxes you'll pay for it another way

So, you like having taxes raised? Of course not, no one does. Of course, Bush won't raise them either, so the next candidate has to. The problem I have with Democrats raising taxes is where the money goes -- to buy of the individuals that voted them in (or as some call it 'welfare').

Hey, they are mad because the affluent will have to pay.Tthe poor can't even get health care. Maybe if the poorest got sterilized the rich would be more willing to pay taxes.

I honestly wouldn't mind a raise in my taxes *if* I knew the govt wouldn't waste it. But really, what can we do if taxes do go up? Not much - just pay and complain.
Why in the hell are we paying corporate welfare, yet our veterans and our poor go without?!?
Why do we *still* subsidize the tobacco farmers?

So have them raise taxes! I guess you like buying Al Gore's new giant suv. It's actually a huge gas guzzling bus that says "Stop global warming" on the side. He can patrol around america preaching and emitting co2 into the air at the same time, thanks to your tax money.
