I'm 25, just getting out of the mortgage industry after the huge sub prime disaster...I was thinking about going back to school rather than try to look for a new job, my pops suggested i try business school...what are your thoughts? (from people that have attended and are in the workforce now) is it that beneficial to go to business school? thanks in advance

You don't rally give me enough information to answer properly -- because some MBAs are better than others.

If you are good enough to get into a ranked MBA program, then it is highly likely that it will pay off. The typical student entering a top tier B-School program increases his salary by 50-100% when he graduates. Going to a ranked school that is not in the top 15 will pay off -- but not as much.

Getting an MBA from a school that is not ranked will do little for your earning power.

Gettin an MBA from an online school would (in my opinion) actually diminish your earning power.
