Women for the most part do not shot themselves. If she went through the trouble of putting on a gown she would not have messed herself up by shooting herself. You say the tripped over the gun. That is almost impossible. It would have to have been a rifle to trip over it and it would have still been in her hands or lying right next to her. Then ther is the GSR test which is what the police would have done right away to determine whether or not the Man fired a gun.

It is definitely best left to the experts to come to a conclusion on this, we don't know much at all of the situation. One piece of advice I will give though, is that it is quite common for women to dress up and often put on make up prior to a suicide attempt - especially if it's something they've been considering for a while. More often than not, friends and loved ones are not even aware it is happening. I'm only telling you this because so many people are giving you false information. I'd advise perhaps going to a trauma counsellor and talking this out with them. Your local PD should be able to recommend some good people to go to.

If he tripped over the gun, why were his prints on it? I am sorry for the loss of your friend, but the investigators need to look at the husband a little closer.

Women may kill themselves with pills or by slitting their wrists. She would not dress up and then shoot herself in the head. Even approaching death women do not want to do it in a way that would make them look bad physically. The police know this and they will consider this. In any death, the spouse is the first one looked at. From what you present, he did it.

That's best left to investigators, and not a group of people linked via the Internet who are nowhere near the crime scene.
