Jackson wanted to get rid of the National Bank, and allow each state to print money for itself. This would increase the flow of money and would also allow for more credit and therefore higher prices for land in the West, where he was from.

In addition, he was the fist president to use the spoils system in which he fired every appointee from the previous administration, JQ Adams', and put into place his own appointees. This system is still in place today. He held so much power because of this that some people called him "King Andrew".

Finally, he used presidential power to abuse the Indians, even going so far as to cancel a ruling by the Supreme Court and leading to the Trail of Tears, one of the most infamous events in the history of the USA.
