Yes they do work by reflecting the sun instead of the seats absorbing the rays.

They do make the solar powered fans that can be attached to the window and they keep the hot out but you still need AC.

Does the car have AC and it doesn't work, or has it never been installed?

The window things work pretty well - but you need to park your car so the front windshield gets most of the direct sun.

Also, think about where the shadows will be and where they will move (Like if you are going to be at work - someplace it will be parked for a while!)

I park my car far away if I can get sun - did you know that gas will evaporate directly out of the engine in the sun?

Best of luck!

Yes the metallic window covers work. I don't remember
where I saw it but there are these things you stick in
the top of the window and it is supposed to blow
the hot air out and keep your car at a comfortable
temperature in the 75 range or something like that.
Found something similar to the one I was thinking of

(If the towel is purely too chilly or damp, positioned a sparkling dry dish towel between the chilly one and your baby.) in case you forget to relax a dish towel in the previous your travels, purely positioned a sparkling dry a hundred% cotton sheet in the back of your toddler. motor vehicle seats are commonly guy made and that makes the warmth and sweating lots worse. toddler powder is likewise sturdy, yet attempt to apply the talc unfastened ones - they are safer for you and your toddler. happy and cool traveling! Wow! Very dramatic under. in case you're an authority you will possibly desire to understand that organic substances have be scientifically shown to be cooler than a lot of those guy-made fibers and as a result are cooler on pores and skin touch. additionally, putting a sheet between a baby and a seat is extremely, if in any respect a secure practices hazard, because it truly is purely too skinny to translate to an extension of the protection harnesses. Many companies make sheets and blankets for use in motor vehicle seats.

Yes, they work. But remember the back window and sides, too, get sunlight, which fry your ride. Light colored bath towels tucked up in the side windows and tint your rear window, if possible(available in the yellow pages or even do-it-yourself kits at Napa or CarQuest, etc.)
Wish we had your problem on these cold and dreary days...T-storms tonight and snow tomorrow!
