Do some research, the internet was not invented in Switzerland.

Also, I believe people should have the right to say what they want. I'm not trying to be political.

HGHerron2, now that you point that out, being critial about China on paper would be ever so slightly ironic. And I feel you can say whatever you want, be it on paper or the Internet, you seem to have misread my intentions.

Adam V, the U.S. speaking English is not Irony, that is just logical. But either way, it looks like you Canadians have alot to be proud of.

Isn't it ironic that Americans use English.

Also Canadians invented basket ball, hockey, radio, zippers, snow mobiles, penicillin, insulin, telephone, light bulb, 5 pin bowling. wonder bra, pacemaker, Robertson screw, electric wheelchair, Cobalt-60 “Bomb” Cancer Treatment , Java programming language, Bloody Caesar, Canadarm, and a lot more. Americans not only use these inventions but they rely on a lot of them and make money off of them.

Also 999 now 911 for emergencies reported by telephone, 4-H club.

Interesting paranoia. I really think the Iranians would use the freedom of information act. I'm sure that your CLASSIFIED answer has little use.

On the contrary, it should have been predicted. We are so eager to express opinions, we cannot wait for a newspaper, or book, to be printed. In the Internet we can write anything slightly ahead, or after, a first proper thought and reflection. No dictator will return to power after John Dean proved the potential power of the Internet in a Democracy -all will learn.
Seen Edward's website? It is rich in options and information. He set a new standard in ease of use and navigation
-competitors will send scouts to study, learn and go further.

I'm American and right now, this country is fouled-up. There is so much wrong, from an invasion of illegals that neither party will recognize, to an incompetent, arrogant, secretive, stubborn administration who continues to dismiss the will of the majority of Americans. That isn't bashing, it's stating facts. For those who don't like the facts, maybe an examination of how you vote is in order.

I think it far more ironic that the internet was originally set up as a form of military communication for use during a possible 3rd world war, and is now widely used to exchange ideas and information by people who are opposed to war.

Isn't it ironic that America's enemies use an American invention (also created by the US military) to threaten the US?
By the way, I am talking about nuclear bombs.
Not all your 'inventions' are good, you know.

If you really look at what 'America bashers' are venting their anger at, it is not the American public, it is your idiot leader.

How is that ironic? Paper was invented by the Chinese -- can't I write an essay critical of the Chinese ON PAPER?

I guess I don't find it interesting.

The internet roots were started in the USA, but many nations have since made improvements.

The internet is world-wide, and it is a FREE FORUM of discussion.

Just like the 9-11 terrorists used aeroplanes built in the US to attack NYC.
Or the Taliban's use of American weapons to fight for Afghanistan.

Yup....sure is ironic.

What I find ironic is the fact that the country was formed on the notion of freedom of speech...and yet when someone exercises it freely, they are condemned.

It is not unpatriotic to question or criticize your government when they are acting in a way that does not represent what you perceive to be your best interests. It is unpatriotic, however, to criticize those that exercise that right...
