When you download a file, you are first prompted to run or save. If you choose save, then you will then be prompted to pick a location to save the file. That location is where your file is being downloaded. If you are sure that something is blocking it, then try downloading the file to your desktop. If it still doesn't show up and no messaged pop up from you computer about error or blocking, then the site you are downloading from is either messed up or a hoax.

Well, if in firefox the most normal shortcut is Cntrl + J but go to tools download, it will have a listing plus where it was downloaded to, if this fails, right click (or on a mac Cntrl + Click) and go wichever option displays the files location in an explorer type window...

I used to have trubble finding things i have down loaded too and have a simple solution to start doing in the future (its call organisation hehe) when you click save and a box apears saying "please verify where you want to save" or osmething like that make sure you tell the com to save the thing somewhere were you can find it (eg. if it is a picture make a folder called pictures and save all your pictures in there, then move it so its in plain site on your screen or in another folder that you can find easly.
There is also a search browser, go to the start button and click search, type the name of what you are looking for and you should be able to find it. if it doesn't show up then you probably saved the thing wrong. ;)

One good way to check is to SAVE the download first (saving to DESKTOP is the best location because that is the first thing you see when the computer comes on) and then you can open it...Many times the download ends up in ATTACHMENTS on your email page..Located below inbox, sent, bulk, etc...good luck..

when you go to download and you choose save, you have an option to choose WHERE to save the file, this will eliminate your frustration. Choose a path that's easy for you or choose to save it to the desktop (which can prove to be messy and distracting after you've downloaded a number of stuff)
