I love the example I heard some 40 years ago, by a radio DJ. He said, "The grass looks greener on the other side....... But It's JUST as hard to mow!" Truer words were never spoken!

The expression "Grass is Greener" comes from human's natural thought process. We ALWAYS want what we can't have... and then when it is given to us, we could really care less about it.
As was stated already by another answerer (definition: One who answers. lol), it is always the same grass. That lovey dovey feel good feeling always fades and you are left with essentially the same as you had before.
My advice? Work with what you have. If there are elements that make you unhappy and aren't workable, then move on. Graze all you want until you do find grass that is appealing AND satisfying (so to speak..). No matter what you have, you will ALWAYS want more/better.
Good luck!

Do you understand the expression? Your neighbors grass looks greener until your up close to it-then your own yard looks pretty good. Are you married? Don't even be curious. I think it can feel pretty good to be attracted to someone else, to have someone new paying attention to you-but it won't make you feel good at all. If you love who you're with then keep yourself out of situation where you may be tempted...we are tempted by a lot in this world-don't go there.

It's not greener. It turns out to be the same grass that you just threw away.
Once the novelty and the excitement of an affair is over, it turns out that the other person is just a human being after all...nothing special or magical.

Remember this . . .
This grass always appears greener on the other side, UNTIL you have to mow that 'ish!

In a nutshell, it's ALWAYS greener. Think about it. You get used to the spouse, their body, their habits, etc. You see someone else, and...SCHWING! It's always, always greener to the eye somewhere else, but in truth, that person has troubles, hangups, etc too....so it's not always better than what you got at home!

If you truly want lush green grass. Start by fertilizing your own lawn.

Based on this question, I'd say you've been SMOKING too much grass.
