It depends upon the policies of the college/university you are attending. Typically, you can dual major (2 majors) or one major and one or two minors, or you can do two majors and no or one minor. However, some colleges/universities will permit you to do three majors if you want.
Ultimately, it depends upon what you hope to achieve. Some dual majors fit together well and can greatly improve your job prospects after graduation - such as dual Business and Computer Science degrees, or Philosophy and History, Education and any other major, etc. If you decide to dual or more major/minor, try to find ones that fit well together and would help your job prospects after graduation. I'm not saying that dual majors would hurt your job prospects - I seriously doubt it would - but simply suggesting that you pick multiple majors that mesh well together and help you out, instead of being a large investment of time, money and effort for little effect in the long run.

Normally you major in one subject, say History, or Chemistry or whatever. It is possible to have a double major, that is, major in two subjects. So you could be a double major in English and Sociology. Some majors are interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary, that is, they are programs of study which include several subjects. An example would be an International Relations major which might include history, political science, economics and languages.
Good luck with your studies.
