It will cost you a lot of time and money to keep it up, balance the chemicals, replace fish and plants. Make sure that you really want it first. Putting one in is the easy part. Best of luck.

I love my pond. The thought you put in before hand is worth it. When you find a place for it, look at the landscape around it. Visualize the shape and the features you want. Be an artist. Go with what you feel. Really.
Whether you use a pond liner or an insert, please be sure to put sand under it. Cracks and tears are tough to deal with.
Be prepared to do serious maintenance twice a year, but otherwise, you'll never be sorry.
Also be open to changing it. I've added two waterfalls and a huge pump to mine and love it even more.

Is it simple. Decide what type of pond you want buy the tub set it in place and take your shovel or paint can and spray the outline. dig the hole to the depth of the tub, I would bury the electrical cord underground if feasable, and stub it out near a outlet. That is totally your call, the hardest part is digging. Good Luck

I have put in two of them. One for me, one for my mother in law. There is a lot to it and I recommend not buying one of the plastic pools especially if you want an oddly shaped pool because it is very teadous trying to fit the shape of the pool in the hole exactly. If you just go with the pool liner, dig the pool how you want it to look and then lay the liner down it is a lot easier. There is pros and cons to both sides and you really want to think it through before you start. It is a project you can easily do in a weekend but it requires a lot of forethought and planning. Good luck!
