i mean, now that we are over 5 years removed, do you think he did a good job? do you honestly feel that he did america a service after 9-11? forget iraq for the time being....i think the majority of people would concede that that was a mistake (if nothing more than the way it was handled.) but did bush do a good job with 9-11? i say no. we still havent caught the one man who was responsible for the attacks, though we were promised he would be caught. we had an opportunity to unite as a nation, as we were after 9-11. but that soon faded with our entry into iraq and our failure to capture bin laden. now our nation is divided probably more than ever since the jim crow days. how can you honestly, in good conscience, say that bush did a good job?

"the best of his ability" does not count. im not saying he didnt try or did the "best he could." im saying that in retrospect, he did not do a good job. no excuses, he just failed. do you think the world is safer from terrorists now?

You can't thats just the thing. We should have aggresively hunted the terrorist worldwide until Kingdom come. Leave whole countries alone unless we are attacked by them and their governments declare war on us. Iraq from day one was a mistake what was the real agenda? Yes it is good that Saddam is gone and his sons, but really what threat did they pose to us? Where are the WMD? I think our intelligence was bad, and also our assesment of Iraq in general. Yes there were some people there that Saddam did bad things to but they were such the minority that we should have just granted them assylum to come here instead of trying to change their whole country. The majority of the people in Iraq just want us to leave plain and simple. They could care less about democracy they just want their country back. I say keep the troops there another year, and during that time bring the ones over here to the U.S that just want to escape iraq, as did we did in Vietnam. Really what other plan can you have? Sorry to get off the subject with 911, but 911 should have been avenged against some stupid terrorrist who could have been eliminated by now instead we have created more of them by invading Iraq. Now basically we have disrupted the whole middle east and made tensions across the world worse. Dilpomacy can be achieved here still if only our leaders will answer the call of the majority of the American people. I've seen enough.

I think Bush did an AMAZING job in the weeks after 911, and so did 91% of the country on September 20, 2001 when he said at the state of the Union Address "We shall show no distinction between the terrorists, and the countries who harbor them."
As for capturing the man responsible for the 911 attacks, WE DID THAT! His name is Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and he admits to planning the 911 attacks from A-Z. And right now as we speak our special forces are in Afghanistan wiping out what's left of Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
As for the country being divided, I totally agree. And it all started the morning John Kerry woke and decided to be an "anti-war" candidate. I guess he saw Howard Dean beating him in the polls and figured he couldn't win the presidency when he agrees with what the president is doing!
There you have it!

He did ok except for that "My Pet Goat" thing. But it was a no-brainer really. We are attacked, we know who was invovled, we go after them. On 9/11. Bush did very little himself. The military, FAA, first responders, etc. did all the work and decisions. Bush and Chenney went into hiding.
What would have been better is if he stopped it from happening in the first place-- he was warned on a few occassions that Al Qaeda was planning such an attack. He didn't listen.

It is highly doubtful that anyone could have handled 9/11/01 worse than "W"aste Product! Looking for the wrong guy in the wrong country for Daddy Bush, inability to get Saddam 13 years earlier in his own Gulf War is pitiful!

i don't like bush, but he handled it well. I mean, even though we have so much advanced technology that we don't even know about, that doesn't mean the military is going to use it. We only use things that seem within the military grasp of today, but in reality, we could have easily hunted laden down within a matter of days and killed him. We didn't do that, because it would show the world that we have a lot more power than they think, and thus produce more of an arms race for other countries
I think he could have done a better job to hunt him down, but i mean, there is only so much one can do

No, I think he did what people wanted then - now more than 5 years passed and we haven't accomplished anything in Afghanistan and Iraq except we found no WMD, and we didn't find OBL either. The terrorists are working harder than ever before to blow up and kill as many Americans and both the Sunni and Shia Muslims they can. The price of our oil and gasoline products are priced higher than ever and no one DEMANDS our congress act accordingly. What has Bush done to make our lives better? NOTHING.

He did the best he could under the circumstances. He s still doing the best he can though you and others want to spin that for some reason. I think he would have done a better job if he was a dictator, and didn't have to follow the laws of this country when it comes to war.

President of the United States of America George W. Bush handeled the events of September 11, 2001 to the best of his ability. He made sure that those responsible were to be brought to justice and I do believe that there is a spiritual reason why George W. Bush became President of the United States of America in 2000 and was the President of the worst day in American History.

It's a war period... Every country has a huge separation during war. Take Iraq for example.
