There are different reasons why people leave this site. Some are tired of the abuse or they might just be bored with the same old questions. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve read “are gays born that way” or “is being gay a lifestyle choice”. Then there are all the religious ones trying to “convert” us.

I was on Yahoo Answer for awhile, but had to close my account. I was getting abuse from a certain person, so it was easier to close the account and be “reborn” with a new name. A few of the older yahoo members are still around, but these days they have different user names.

Since I have previously considered leaving and still consider doing so, I can only give my own reasons.

There are the trolls, which in and of themselves show that there are many uneducated people in the world who can only make themselves feel good by putting down others and can be ignored... but when they advise a questioning young adult to possibly harm themselves it is disheartening to have Yahoo! not take any action for a day or two.

There are the people who answer the trolls, and by answering them they give the trolls reasons to continually come back.

There are the anti-trolls who quasi-impersonate the trolls and think that they are being cute, but they also give the trolls a reason to come back.

There are those who ask serious questions that are answered by non-serious answers that are actually voted best (A question about a gay gene was voted a best answer of Gene Hackman).

Those who answer questions get hate mail from those who disagree with their answer.

You see other people who asked thought provoking questions and give excellent answer leave, and wonder why you shouldn't do the same.

I always hope they're busy with good and interesting things, and sometimes that's true. Sometimes they're busy with bad and difficult things. And a lot of times, especially in this category, there is so much negativity and the same questions come up over and over again. I've seen cool people give up, too.

People leave this board for different reasons, tired of being abused, tired of answering the same questions over and over, sometimes unloved feelings.

Perhaps some people just want to leave whether they have a reason to go, or not.

because as some have said yahoo has become very uncooperative. Theyre not helpful enough. On my behalf, I ain't going no where and I will make sure that if yahoo doesn't want to cooperate they will have some hell.

Because it seems that Yahoo Answers caters to the bigots instead of getting them off this site.

We humans get bored after a certain amount of time, plus the nice weather is coming. I am spending more time outside. See ya in the Fall.

One thing about it, no one gets bored with my questions, they simply don't show up on the board, so I just quit asking questions. I can't figure it out, I log in and roll through all the questions that everybody asks, but none of mine shows up on my site, yet I've read where three or four, read them, so I wonder why they don't show on mine. Oh well, no big deal.
