The Brits seem to be handling it well. Cool heads, no rash decisions or actions.

I would suggest that each nation provide evidence to support their claims of whether the sailors were in Iraqi or Iranian waters. If neither could support their claim, then I would tell Iran to release the prisoners at best and to cease using them as political pawns (which is against world law). If I am only an independent negotiator, then I have no authority to issue threats. What would YOU do?

Well my advice would be let the Iranians know it was a mistake and the English will say they are sorry but had faulty equip such as radar and the oops or sophisticated GPS was at fault and and the Iranian will give back the sailors and that will be it ! But thats a boys dream isn't it ? Whats really going to happen is this. The English will insist they are right and the Iranian Gov will have no other alternative but to put the men on trial and on and on till we have just the right excuse to bomb their nuclear facilities and on and on and on!

Time for the UK to step up the level of play and Kick some heads in. It is time for the EU to step up and make good on all the claims about protecting their own. they seem to like the British Taxes and industry but fall short of the allied portion. Germany and France may well be Islamic states for the celebration of the WW1 100th anniversary!

I would advise Iran to release the 15 hostages immediately and apologize to Britain and the world for their illegal actions.
I would advise Britain to give Iran exactly 24 hours to comply, and then bomb them back into the stone age.
Which wouldn't be all that long of a trip, actually.

Tell Iran to give the sailors/marines back immediately, and then tell Britain to take this into consideration when they bomb Iran, for what is normally considered an act of war.

Suggest to the British that they are taking a huge risk in threatening military action, and tell the Iranians that they are bringing massive international disapproval upon them by not releasing sailors who perhaps accidentally tresspassed.

I wouldn't suggest anything until I felt I had all the facts that were necessary to make a sound judgement. As of now, I'd bet my life I don't have all the facts.

Stevers, your a clown, the UN is the reason Iran hasn't been dealt with properly anyway.
It is an easy answer: England - prepare your military.

I would tell Blair to apologise, and Ahmedinejad to accept and send the sailors back TODAY.
End of story.
It seems to me that the British were in Iranian waters.
