I know you have to insert a graph and choose what type you want, but where do you from there? How do you enter the data?

Create the chart in Excel, then select and copy it, and paste it into Word. Word can also do very simple, limited charts from Insert > Picture > Chart.

First of all create a table (Table menu>Insert>Table) in Word and insert your data in it, then select it and go to Insert>Object>Microsoft Graph Chart.
The chart shows up with an Excel type table, close the table then right click on the chart to customize it (Chart type: Pie). You can then resize the chart selecting it and dragging a handle.

Open an Excel file.
Type your data:
- type Column Headers
- type the values
- select the data (columns headings and values)
- click Insert, Chart
you will get a picture of the various types of charts
click on the pie chart

You can also go to the Insert Menu in word, go to Picture->then Chart. Right click on teh bar chart that is there, click chart type. Select PIE and you are good to go, now you just input the numbers of your results.
