1) "Fat Kid Rules the World" by K. Going - It's about this 17 year old boy who is really fat who one day tries attempting suicide but gets pulled back by this famous high school dropout who is looking for a drummer for his punk rock band. It doesn't sound like much from my description, but it's hilarious.
2) "Son of the Mob" by Gordon Korman - I dunno....it's about a kid who's dad is a gangster in a mob and he doesn't appreciate the fact that crime is what his dad does for a living. One day the kid meets a girl who is the daughter of a cop and yeah...pretty funny.
3) "Bloodtide" by Melvin Burgess - It involves spies, gangsters and a futuristic London. My friend is in love with it....and it seems pretty good from what I've read (which is like the 5 chapters). It's first in a series.
4) "Private Peaceful" by Michael Morpurgo - I read this book like 5000 times..it's a war-story kind of thing.
5) "Cirque du Freak" by Darren Shan - Possibly the best modern vampire story ever. No, I dunno, I just really liked this series...it's really suspenseful, and a few other people I know have read it and liked it. A lot.
6) "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding - It's just good. You probably already know what this is though....
7) "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee - BEST BOOK EVER.
8) "The Giver" by Lois Lowry - It's futuristic...I don't really remember what happens but I know I loved it. Still do.
9) "The House of the Scorpion" by Nancy Farmer - It's about this clone-boy who was harvested in a cow. Once again, my discription sucks, but this book is seriously really good. It's science-fiction. And it's good.
10) "Silent to the Bone" by E. L. Konigsburg - It's a mystery story about this boy, Connor and his friend, Branwell who suddenly stops talking after an accident. Connor knows his friend knows what happened, but he won't talk. Again, this is a sucky discription, but it's a good book. I read it a long time ago, but it's that good that I remember what happens. =D
That's all I can come up with right now....I dunno what half the books you named are, so I had to Google them, and I tried to come up with ones similar to those....I dunno if I was successful though. =P

You could try the Xanth series by Piers Anthony or the M.Y.T.H. series by Robert Asprin. They are oldies but goodies in the world of fantasy. Very entertaining.
Besides Alex Rider, Anthony Horowitz has started a new series. The first book is called Raven's Gate and the second one is out as well.
Also, if you liked Scott Westerfeld's Midnighters books I would recommend his Uglies, Pretties, Specials trilogy and Peeps/The Last Days by him as well. BTW-I just read the first Midnighters book this past weekend and really liked it. I'm looking forward to reading the other two.
You could also try The Wereling books by Stephen Cole or the book Secrets by F.M. McPherson. They were all good.
My last suggestion is Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke which was a story about a dragon looking for his lost relatives. He is joined on his quest by a human boy and a brownie.

Try Walter Dean Myers, Avi, or Gary Paulsen. Besides Where the Red Fern Grows, I like Wilson Rawls's lesser known book better, Summer of the Monkeys.
Try the Shadow Children series also, starts with Among the Hidden, by Margaret Peterson Haddix.

pendragon is good and I'm a girl...anyways..umm if you like harry potter then the Charlie Bone series is really good. Artemis Fowl is really good too. If you like vampires or at least books about them, then the Darren Shan Cirque Du Freak series is really good. It sounds like it's about a "freak circus" and it starts off that way but turns into a series about the journey of a boy half-vampire(he stay out during the day).

How about Zelalzny's Princes of Amber series. They have everything - great battles, a really cool but dysfunctional family with lots of brothers and sisters all trying to take over. Corwin is my favorite Prince of Amber and his son Merlin is fantastic. I think you would enjoy them. Pax - C.
