Buy some fresh food and cook it. That's c-o-o-k it. Or, if that's too difficult, buy some fresh food you don't need to cook (that's c-o-o-k) and just eat it.

I had to answer this one! Back when my husband was still in the Marines (he's now retired) we lived in a small town in the Sierra Nevadas called Coleville (California) This is where the military housing was. The town itself had like one restaurant in it and one general store. Nevada was about 3 miles away and had a casino there, but they didn't deliver. It was also a long distance call to the casino, though we could call my husband's sister in Sacramento as a local call. We had to drive 30 minutes up and down the mountain just to get to a regular grocery store. I think there was a McDonald's, though I could be wrong. To do any shopping, though limited, you had to drive 45 minutes just for Walmart or Kmart. The mall was 75 miles away in Reno! So we didn't have delivery for the whole time we lived there. What we did was grill a lot. When you don't have a lot of options, you sort of just do the best with what you have.

Before I answer, just a quick note to some of those who have already answered-
WE DONT ALL HAVE TO COOK EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!! WE ARE ALLOWED A NIGHT OFF !!!!! THE PERSON ASKING IS TALKING ABOUT A ONE OFF, NOT EATING A TAKE OUT EVERY NIGHT!!! LIGHTEN UP!!!
Right, rant over!! lol
I live in a village, 6 miles from the nearest town. No one will deliver to us, and the town only has a Mcdonalds. We have one occasionally - i`ll pick it up on my way home from work. Other than that, we go without, unless we have a run over to Birmingham or something for a day then we might grab a Burger King as a treat!
i suppose its healthier for us not being close, and saves us money, but it is a shame late on a friday when you really fancy a chinese or something ans can`t drive coz youve got your jammies on or had a drink.

I live in Stranraer, Scotland. The nearest fast food outlet (Burger king) is on the Stranraer to Belfast ferry. So unless your willing to pay the ferry fair (about £40) you have to drive the 80 odd miles or so to Dumfries or Ayr. We have loads of other take away joints here like chinese and indian etc, but i still like my big macs.

GET A DEEP FRYER!!!!!!
I'm serious! You could make chicken, fish, mini tacos, fries, onion rings, cheese sticks, and so many other greasy foods! You could do all that in less time than it takes most people to get dressed, get out the door, in the car and to a fast food place and back! The best part, you will know that nobody "SPIT IN YOUR FOOD!!!"
Man I'm gettin' hungry I think I will go plug in my deep fryer:)~

It's seven miles to the nearest one for us so we don't bother we've got used to it now..but you could always freeze curries and the extras for when you want one...the only option for pizza and chinese is to buy frozen pizzas and make your own chinese
