the government has too much power.
the lines of privacy were broken when the FBI and NSA were authorized to conduct warrentless eavesdropping and investigations.
its a difficult issue however because while i don't like the government being able to spy on whoever it wants to, there is a very real threat of terrorists and spies operating within our borders.

We should give the government as little power as possible. To quote George Washington, "Government is not reason, it is not eloquence; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."
The boundaries of personal liberty and the allowed encroachments by the government are supposed to be outlined in the Constitution. Gradually, the government has eroded it into a practically meaningless document. Once the government had specifically defined powers; now they get to do just about everything they want to do.

The responsibilities given to the government are outlined in the US Constitution. Over the years, politicians have tread all over those limitations. Unfortunately, we as individuals, do not have the means to challange legislators and presidents who pass laws that override the basic rights guaranteed in the Constitution.

2% of what they have grabbed!
If every voter would vote the criminal politicians out, we could return this country to what it was meant to be.
Thomas Jefferson already advocated that (a revolution every 19 years)!
